A New Look For Fall

Do you like the new look of my place?

When I was visiting the other day I stopped over to see Mariyln Monroew and noticed what a new beautiful blog she now has. I got the name of her designer, The Cutest Blog On The Block, and paid them a visit to see what could be done to spiff up my place. In honor of the season change I was thinking of chancing colors etc. I contacted the designer and I am so happy with the finished work, I cannot thank Marilyn enough.

I will try not to be sad but be positive as for sure summer is gone and fall is in full swing right now. The days are getting shorter, nights cooler, the sunsets are more beautiful, the leaves are turning color, and some leaves are starting to fall from the trees. I will embrace fall and enjoy all of the vibrant colors that the trees offer for us to see.

Do you have a favorite season? I have a poll on the sidebar so be sure to vote for your favorite time of year.

A Card Shower For Opus

Friday, September 26, if you would like to join in, a bunch of us are having a surprise card shower for Opus. We are celebrating his birthday a little late. We know he is lonely since his brother Roscoe went to the bridge a couple of weeks ago. Opus gave a beautiful celebration of life for Roscoe on their shared birthday therefore his birthday was a little forgotten.
Let's surprise Opus and cheer him up! If you would like to email him a card his address is: catnapsinitaly@yahoo.com or you could stop over at his place and wish him a surprise Happy Belated Birthday.

A Welcomed Visitor

Today there was a visitor at our house. The mom of the house really liked the trespasser because as soon as she saw him/her she smiled and thought how much he/she looked a little like Roscoe. The coloring of the cat was a lot like Roscoe's but the face was very different. We have all been really sad since Roscoe went to the bridge over two weeks ago and I must say it was nice to see the mom of the house smile for a change.

The mom of the house and I think that this young cat was coming by to let us know that Roscoe is fine and everything will be OK time will take care of things. Seeing this cat perked up our day just a little.

The cat didn't stay too long, as soon as the mom was spotted with the camera he/she ran away, just as I usually do. Hate the paparazzi stuff too.

Can You Take A Dare?

Karl at The Cat Relm has challenged all to a dare which I accept. The challenge is to come up with one creative, fun, useful way to save the environment and put a picture of yourself doing it on your blog! We can thank Mr. Chenh for this winning dare.

Photo taken while touring on Route #66

Help with our gas shortages. Save on your gas mileage and buy a hyrid car, you can get fifty miles or more per gallon on the open road.

Karl dares all to accept this challenge! He will leave the dare up until Saturday, September 20, so you have a whole week to do this!

Do you dare to accept?

You Will Be Missed Roscoe

* * * CLICK HERE TO LIGHT A CANDLE FOR SWEET ROSCOE * * *

"As long we we can love each other, and remember the feeling of love we had, we can die without ever really going away. All the love you created is still there. All the memories are still there. You live on-in the hearts of everyone you have touched and nurtured while you were here".
Morris S. Schwartz: Tuesdays With Morrie

Sweet little Roscoe went over the rainbow bridge early today. His little life was cut too short and he will be missed. My life was made better by having him and his brother, along with their humans part of my world.
The double rainbow photo taken from my backyard

I borrowed the beautiful poem above from the post his human made for him as I thought it was so beautiful.

It is not good-bye to my sweet Roscoe but a see you until we meet again someday. When we meet we will not be ill or suffering in anyway, we will have plenty of more chances for adventures.

Love to the family of Roscoe and his brother Opus, my prayers are still coming to help you all as you go through this most terrible time.

On the sidebar you can click on Roscoe's photo with the candle and it will take you to a site where you can light a candle and leave him a message.

Roscoe Is Ill

I receive sad news today that Roscoe is very ill and needs all your good thoughts and prayers that he get better. Opus has asked that I let you all know about this and I will let all of you know how things are going on at their place. Their mom of the house isn't going to be blogging for awhile as she is spending her time taking care of Roscoe and giving him all of the attention that he needs.

If you would like to leave them a message I know they will appreciate all your kind words and thoughts. Pray really hard that our sweet little Roscoe gets better soon.

UPDATE September 7

I am posting this update because Opus was afraid that his mom wouldn't get to the blog because she is so busy taking care of Roscoe and also making sure that Opus is getting lots of hugs and loves too.

Roscoe was a little more alert to his surroundings today but wasn't eating or drinking. The vet visited him at home and started another VI. Before bedtime Roscoe was offered an ice cube to lick, which he did! His mom also offered him some of his favorite cat treats which he ate some!!

Opus is, of course, very worried about his brother and at times restless. The mom of the dad at their place is taking great care of both kitties to meet all of their needs. Tomorrow will be a big day as Roscoe goes back to the vet and more tests will be done so please keep your prayers and kind words coming.

I have some candles if you would like to burn one for Roscoe to get better take one to post on your blog and if you want sent it along to your friends, please do not credit for the graphics.

Farewell

The end of the safari is here and we all have spent the week trying to put that thought out of our minds. Momo, Opus, Roscoe, Karl, Ruis, and myself have enjoyed spending most of the summer together and were not looking forward to having to go back to our homes. We spent the last few days trying to capture each minute that we had left and make the most of it. Below are some candid photos taken during our last few days in Africa . . .

. . . watching Roscoe master the art of zebra riding . . .

. . . one more ride in the jeep . . .

. . . getting up close to another of nature's beautiful creatures of Africa . . .

. . . making fast friends with a hungry baby . . .

. . . stealing a quiet moment with one of my best friends and a few new ones . . .

. . . our group shot before we boarded the MFV to head back home . . .

. . . as the sun set on magnificent Africa we settled down for our journey that would take us home.

. . .bidding our final farwell to Africa I took a moment to quote from a favorite movie on mine, "I'll be back!"

For more exciting candid shots please go over to Ruis & Karl's and Opus & Roscoe's blog.

WHAT A FANTASTIC SUMMER IT WAS!

My Sissie's Birthday

Photographer Unknown

Today, September 2, is my dear sweet Sissie's birthday and this called for a small celebration! Please stop over to Momo's place and wish her a Happy Birthday!

Momo's sissy, and my other sissie, Asta, teleported on over to spend the day with us! Karl, Ruis, Asta, Opus, Roscoe, Momo, and myself, were all up bright and early to get everything ready for Momo's special day. The first thing we did was to present Momo with flowers, breakfast in bed, and her own special birthday tiara . . .

. . . we then surprised Momo when we filled up the tub and treated her to a relaxing bubble bath.

After all of the excitement of the past few days, we decided it was best to spend a quiet day at the lodge. There we toasted Momo with Don Nipiton and presented her with a beautiful, birthday cake and spent the rest of the day relaxing by the jacuzzi.
