Mia Is Gone

My heart is heavy today as I learned the sad news of Mia's passing. Only a few days ago she was at the party I hosted at my home on Sunday. I am glad that I got to meet her and so saddened that our time was too short.

Mia left us too soon. My thoughts and prayers go out to Ghost and Mia's family during this difficult time.

Sweet Miss Peach

Yesterday when I was visiting my friends blogs I noticed several posts about Miss Peach. Today I read a post from Opus and Roscoe, Catnaps In Italy, that left me with tears in my eyes. Please visit their blog as their post was most heartwarming.

I know Miss Peach is a special friend of Karl's and a friend to many of you too. I do not know her too well but she tugged at my heart strings when I saw her picture on Karl's post. I want to let Miss Peach and her family know that I am thinking of her and wishing her to get well. Keep Miss Peach in your prayers, heart, and thoughts as I know she would be glad to know that we are all pulling for her to get better.

Miss Peach's mom is taking such good care of her and yesterday did get her to eat a little. I have never met Miss Peach but after I read her letter and saw how ill she is my heart is now breaking, I cannot imagine how her family is feeling, my heart goes out to them . I am so sorry Miss Peach and her family are going through this difficult time. Keep them all in your prayers.

Get better Miss Peach you have a lot of family and friends that love you and want to have you feeling better.

At The Games!

A lot of laughs, jumps, guesses, and good old fun was what the Halloween party was all about. A few of you have asked questions about the different games played at the party so I will fill you in with what I can remember.

Game 1 - Find the mouse.

As you can see from the picture above the bunny costume bear was holding a carrot and the mouse. No one spotted the mouse which surprised me as we all know that cats have superior eye sight. Maybe this game was played after too much catnip was consumed.

Game 2 - How many mice in the jar. (Correct Answer: 4)

We had many party guests that played this game the following are some of the participants and the number they guessed: Momo - 3, Tigger the FBI cat - 3, Opus - 4 (said 5 before Roscoe ate 1), Mr. Hendrix - 4, Alexi - 3, The Crew: Misty, George, Tipper, & Max - 3, Derby - 6, Samantha & Tigger - 4, Christine & Faz, and Trixie loved all of the games especially the mice in a jar but did not guess how many.

I am not sure what mouse Roscoe ate as there were only four mice in the jar, maybe he found one running around the house?

Game 3 - Bat the balls of yarn.

We all love to bat things around and this proved to be a fun game to play. Opus and Roscoe participated in seeing which one of them could bat the yarn the farthest. Also joining in on the yarn batting was Samantha & Tigger, Alexi, Zippy & Sadie, and Misty. I want to thank Beau for tossing the balls of yarn gently to Misty so she would be able to bat the yarn. I did, however, run out of some colors of yarn because some of my guests made sweaters for guests that became chilled as the evening got cooler. This was quite OK with me as there was plenty of yarn and I am so glad that no one got the chills. Thanks, that was fast thinking.

Game 4 - Who can jump the highest.

This was a favorite game among many, as cats rule in this area. Those participating were the following flying through the air with the greatest of ease: Momo, Christine & Faz, Daisy, Mr. Hendrix, Alexi, Samantha & Tigger, and Pearl.

I am not sure who this is but the picture was taken at the party. I was told that this dog jumped the highest and the farthest. I do not think it is fair because his legs are so much longer than ours. Oh well, there are no winners or losers only a fun time.

I hope this helps answer some of the questions you had about the games. I will keep you posted with part two of party re-cap.

Partied Out!

As you can see the party has wound down. A few of those who were at the party are getting a little shut eye before they head for home. If anyone wants to spend the whole night that is OK with me.

I want to thank all of you who attended my party today. I hope you had as much fun as I did. It was such a pleasure meeting all of you and hope we can do this again.

I will be posting information about the doings at the party and featuring my guests who were first to arrive, last to leave and best costume, along with other information. I also want to recognize all of those who stopped by the party by featuring their picture in my post, this might take me a few days as I believe I had more than forty party-goers. Again thanks to all of you who came to my party. It wouldn't have been a party without you guys coming over. Now I am going to find a quite corner and get me some zzzzzzz's.

Welome to my first open house Halloween party. It is so nice of you to stop by, please stay as long as you like. Let me offer you a little direction as to what is happening.

Hors d' oeuvres are located in the dining room, to the left of the foyer.

A variety awaits you, please help yourself. Don't be shy, dig right in, have as much as you like.

Go back for seconds, there's plenty.

Note: The following snack is for adults only as cat nip was used as one of the cooking spices. Any cat having more than two of these must have a designated driver to get you home. I am relying on the honor system.

All drinks are non-alcoholic and you will find them in the kitchen on the counter.

If you see that I'm running out of glasses please let me know so I can put more out.

There are four different games for you to play. Participate in as many as you want. There are no winners or losers just some good fun.

Game 1 - Find the hidden mouse.

Game 2 - Count the number of mice in the jar

Game 3 - Bat a ball of yarn to see who can hit it the farthest

Game 4 - Who can jump the highest

Those of you in costume may have a parade if you would like to do so.

Out on the patio you will be entertained with music for dancing. Also, in the back yard you will want be sure to visit the fine art sculptures, made by a local artist for your viewing pleasure.

The first guest to arrive, the last guest to leave, and best costume will be featured in a post by me. A re-cap of the party will be posted on my blog this coming week along with pictures of the winners and of those who attended the party. If you do not want your picture to appear in my post please let me know otherwise your photo will appear.

When you leave be sure to pick up your party favor bag to take home with you. Keep an eye on it as I cannot be responsible if it should get lost.

Oh, I almost forget the litter box is in the laundry room.

It is so nice to meet all of you. Make yourselves at home, kick back and have a good time. If you need anything feel free to ask me and I will do my best to meet your request.

It's a PARTY for?

I will be hosting a Halloween Party at my place on Sunday. There will be plenty of eats for all and maybe even some cat nip.

Opus & Roscoe

I want dedicate this post to Opus and Roscoe. They were the first to visit my blog and have come back to visit again. I took this photo off of their blog. Opus is the cat in the front and Roscoe is in the back.

Opus and Roscoe are brothers who's mom moved them way way far away from Indiana, USA to Italy. They, like their mom, packed all of their belongings and headed for the airport and flew to Italy. They sound like they have fun living outside of the USA. I am wondering if they speak Italian? I will have to ask them.

When I visited Opus and Roscoe's blog I saw that they like some of the same books and movies that I like. I hope some of you will visit them. Please let them know that Sassy sent you. You can get to their blog from my link-Cat Naps In Italy.

Since I am new to the blogging world is it OK to dedicate a post to somecat?

Help Needed

I am so proud of myself today. I have been working hard on changing the colors on my blog and organizing how things should appear. I also found a site and put a counter on my blog! I cannot believe this, I only needed a little help.

What I would like help with is what my sub title should be. I am open to any ideas from fellow bloggers. I know it might be hard as no one really knows me yet.

I am looking forward to meeting fellow bloggers.

New At This

I am starting a blog and am such a novice I hope I can get my blog looking nice. I have tried to do a few things with this but I am even having trouble putting in my links to other bloggers. I am so embarrassed.

Please come and visit my blog and be patient with me while I try and set things up. I do have a teacher that can help me but it is done over the phone. I is hard to type and hold onto the phone at the same time.

Will I hope I will get to know new friends.
