Momo Update

Great news!!! Momo is going home. I received this from Momo's SS today, "Yay, Momo is coming home! I am going to pick her up shortly. She has kept her fluids down and is urinating normally. She is still quite weak though. She has to stay indoors until she is much stronger and there is a special diet to follow. I am just thankful that she survives the episode. She has never been this ill before.

Thank you all so much for your concerns - I am really touched by the response of everybody, even furries that I have never met before.

Now we have to concentrate our purrs and purrayers on Miral!!!"

Thank you for all of your prayers to help Momo get better, keep praying that she returns to health quickly and keep praying for Miral.

Prayers Needed & Update

My sissy, Momo, went missing yesterday, Wednesday, and could not be found. Her SS kept searching for her and finally found her in the yard by a tree. She was really ill and was taken to the emergency vet. The vet put her on an IV also blood samples were been taken. SS wrote to me and said that Momo was stable now, which was about 10:00 pm est.

Update on Momo Thursday: I received a message from Momo's SS and this is what she said "I have just been checking with the staff of the hospital and it appears that Momo is better and has perked up and starting drinking a bit. The drip is still necessary to accelerate flushing of the toxins out of the body. If she continues to improve and the blood results stablise she may be able to come home on the weekend." This certinaly is good news. Keep Momo in your thoughts and prayers that she gets better soon and can get back home.

For those of you that do not know yet Ruis' sister, Miral, isn't doing too good. She has been ill this past week and is in need of your prayers to be sent her way in the hopes that her family will get the miracle they are asking for. Please copy the photo and display it on your blog with a link to her blog and send the family your well wishes and prayers.

Update of Miral Thursday: Miral is fighting to stay with us and has taken a few licks of food. She still has to go back to the vet for fluids and special medicine. She is comfortable being at home instead of staying at the vets and is getting plenty of snuggles from her siblings, they sleep close to her to keep her warm. Continue with your prayers for Miral too, she is really a sick kitty right now.

Little Productions, because of the illness with Ruis' family, has delayed its call for scripts at this time and will make an announcement at a later date.

Tag I'm It

Sitka and Tai has tagged me to tell seven weird facts about myself. So here goes.

1. I do not wake up quickley, I like to laze around after I wake up for awhile.
2. I like don't like to be held.
3. I like to taste salty things.
4. Thunder and lightening do not frighten me. This is only if I am inside somewhere.
5. I am a messy eater, food gets all over my face when I eat. You can see that by the above photo, I have a little bit of food left over on my face.
6. I like to sleep on window sills.
7. In the summer my black fur gets redish highlights, this happens because my fur gets thinner in the summer. When my fur is thick for the colder weather it hides the highlights.

I would like to tag Momo Kitty, Punkin, and Daisy for the weird facts. You must post the rules on your blog. List your seven wierd facts about yourself. Let the one that tagged you know that you have posted your facts. Leave a comment to the ones you have tagged.

My second tag was from Punkin and here are the rules.
1. You have to post the rules before you give your answers.
2. You must list one fact about yourself beginning with each letter of your middle name. (If you don't have a middle name, use your maiden name or your mother's maiden name.)
3. At the end of your blog post, you need to tag one person (or blogger of another species) for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged.)

K - Kind-I like to think that I am kind.
A - ADORABLE-I am a pretty cute kitty.
T - TINY - I am a fairly small kitty, when you see my photos you might think that I am bigger than I am.

I would like to tag Mercy over at Jan's Funny Farm.

Rest & Relaxation

With our whirl-wind trip in Ireland, Germany, and Washington DC being over it was time to head out for some much needed rest. It didn't take much talking to convince Opus and Roscoe to agree with me.

Here we are approaching our huts in Tahiti, each of us have our own hut.

Just what we need! Quiet time, no TV, nothing to worry only . . .

. . . how much sleep we can get and the right amount of suntan lotion we should apply. I have to be careful in the sun, already it is bleaching my fur out with red highlights.

If any of you need some cucumber calming glasses and a turban please take them home with you. We can all testify that they will help you be calm and relaxed.

Munich And More

So long and good bye to Ireland! Yesterday when we started to leave Ireland none of us wanted the trip to be over. Karl mentioned that Dragohheart and Merlin live in Germany and that he thought it would be fun if we dropped in to surprise them with a day visit. Excellent idea . . .

After our day visit in Germany it was then time to head home. Opus and Roscoe dropped almost everyone off at their house when Momo Kitty had an idea . . .

. . . she wanted to stop off in Washington DC and visit with the Taylor Catssssss. Perfect! When we arrived in Washington our meeting place was at the Whitehouse. While we were waiting for the DC cats I invited Mrs. Beazley, the Whitehouse family pet, to join us on the lawn. Karl, bless his little heart, was having a hard time being on the Whitehouse lawn. You can check that story out over at his place.

We did not realize it but the We dropped off the dogs and went on to Washington DC!!! The Taylor Catsssss had invited Taylor Catsssss had been in the Whitehouse running up and down the halls. We overheard the secret service talking about a lot of racket inside, almost sounding like a heard of elephants inside. Of course, we didn't say a thing.

Opus and Roscoe finished dropping everyone off at home after our trip to Washington DC. I was the last one in the van with them when . . .

Happy St. Pawdy's Day

The one nice thing about St. Pawdy's is that on this day everyone is a little bit Irish.

Before the St. Patrick's Day parade we all met at the Dublin Temple Bar. Temple Bar (Irish: Barra an Teampaill) is an area on the south bank of the River Liffey in central Dublin, Ireland. Unlike the areas surrounding it, Temple Bar has preserved its medieval street pattern, with many narrow cobbled streets. It is Dublin's cultural quarter and has a lively nightlife that is popular with tourists. Temple Bar is in the postcode Dublin 2 (D2), and has an estimated population of 3,000.

Drinks are on me come on in and have a drink of green beer!

I have a pair of St. Patrick's Day glasses for all of you that would like a pair. Please take a pair with you and wear as you help celebrate St. Patrick's Day, have fun with them.

St. Patrick's Festival is Ireland's official celebration for Ireland's national holiday - St. Patrick's Day. Around the globe on the 17th March, Ireland is celebrated with parties and parades but the BIG party is here in Ireland where there are celebrations in style with five days and nights of fantastic celebratory events, most of which are free . . .

Graphics by Asta & Sassy

. . . so whether you are Irish or just wish you were, Ireland is the place to be in March to enjoy Ireland's biggest party.

The evening ball at St. Patrick's Hall

St. Patrick's Hall is the grandest room of the State Apartments, and contains one of the most important decorative interiors in Ireland. Formerly the ballroom of the Lord Lieutenant's administration, today the room is used for presidential inaugurations. It is one of the oldest rooms in the castle, dating from the 1740's. The most significant painted ceiling in Ireland executed by Vincenzo Valdre (c. 1742–1814) is in this hall. Comprised of three panels, the ceiling depicts the coronation of King George III, Saint Patrick introducing Christianity to Ireland, and King Henry II receiving the submission of the Irish Chieftains.

Today was Asta's surprise to Stanley by having an I Got Ya Day and we were all invited.

All good things must come to an end so we loaded up the flying van of Opus & Roscoe's and headed home. I fell silent as I glanced out my window and saw Ireland getting smaller as we pulled away. My heart was a little heavy as this trip was coming to an end . . . or was it?

Check out the other travels on the St. Patrick's Day events with Momo Opus & Roscoe, Karl, Emil, & Mrs. Oz, Ruis, Asta, Stanley, Momo & Pinot, Charlie, Socks, Scylla & Charybdis. Please visit their place for more of the Ireland story.

Did Someone Say Brewery?

With our busy schedule since we got to Ireland this morning was set aside for free time so I had a chance to catch up on some well needed rest. I spent part of the morning just being lazy and tried out my cucumber glasses and spa turban that I pick up at Karl's place. The guys had used them during their spa visit awhile ago and kept talking about how wonderful you feel using them. I tried it out and I must agree that they were right. I felt like a million dollars and was ready to start the day.

The second half of my morning was spent kayaking off of the magnificent coast of Dublin. I have never before see just glorious scenery.

A must see when visiting Ireland is a visit to The Guinness Brewery. St James's Gate Brewery is a brewery know as the home of Guinness leased for 9,000 years in 1769 by Arthur Guinness, St James Gate has been the home of Guinness ever since. It became the largest brewery in Ireland in 1838, and the largest in the world in 1914. Though it is no longer the largest brewery in the world it is still the largest brewer of stout in the world. There is an attached exhibition on the 250-year-old history of Guinness, called the Guinness Storehouse and some of the old brewing equipment is on show, as well as stout ingredients, brewing techniques, advertising methods and storage devices.

After our tour Roscoe and I helped serve beer at the Gravity Bar located on the top floor. Not only can you kick back and relax with a free pint of beer, Pinot and the young girl kitties had some milk, but you can enjoy an almost 360° panorama view overlooking the city.

With so many must sees on our list of things to see while in Ireland we, of course, headed over to see Dublin Castle. All the historic buildings have been restored and the Castle is now fully integrated into Irish society. The Dublin Castle has played hosts to European Union Presidents, Heads of State, and leaders of business, industry and government. Of course, a major tourist attraction allows visitors to the castle to experience the history revealed throughout the complex from the Medieval Tower to the many treasures found inside.

Plans earlier in the day were made for Momo, Opus, Roscoe, Socks, Charybdis, Scylla and me to meet in the village of Dalkey to have high tea at the Guinea Pig Cafe Restaurant. All of us were at the restaurant waiting for Scylla to show up. We could not figure out where she was? Opus and Roscoe waited inside to make sure that we would have a table when she showed up. Finally we decided that maybe we should walk around to see if we could find her . . .

. . . we found Scylla waiting for us outside of a pet shop. I guess she only heard the words "guinea pig" and of course was at the local pet shop wondering where we were! Too funny. We then headed back to The Guinea Pig Cafe Restaurant, laughing all the way, and enjoyed some delicious tea and other treats the restaurant had on their menu.

More fun tomorrow, the big day, on St. Patrick's Day with Momo Opus & Roscoe, Karl, Emil, & Mrs. Oz, Ruis, Asta, Stanley, Momo & Pinot, Charlie, Socks, Scylla & Charybdis. Please visit their place for more of the Ireland story.

Ireland Day #3

Today starts off with a request from Charlie to visit Ashford Castle located on the west coast of Ireland so we headed over there in Opus and Roscoe's flying van.

Wearing our finest costumes designed for our Ireland trip we gather outside of the castle anticipating the wonderful day that is ahead of us.

The history of Ashford Castle dates back to 1228 A.D. when it was originally built as a monastery. Today this wonderful castle, situated at the water's edge, with its imposing exterior has become a renowned deluxe castle hotel since 1939. A stay at the this five star hotel will guarantee that its guests will first hand experience the essence of magic that permeates each room. While visiting the castle it was easy for me to see why it's said that time stands still in Ireland.

Taking advantage of over 350 acre of wooded parkland by the Ashford Castle we enjoy a country side picnic.

Invited to play an open air concert the Furry Bagpipe Band gathers just before the performance.

There is evidence that the bagpipe was in Ireland from at least the 10th. century but there is no denying the fact that the Pipe Band is a Scottish invention and that the vast majority of the music played is of Scottish origins. The Irish have had no difficulty taking the sound of the bagpipes for generations. The Irish and Scots have more in common than they ever had in difference. Many Gaelic speaking clans of Scotland were descended from Irish tribes who migrated there just as many Irish families have descended from Scottish clans. The pipe band scene in Ireland has played a unique role over the past 50 years in bringing both cultures together.

The adventure continues in Ireland tomorrow with Momo Opus & Roscoe, Karl, Emil, & Mrs. Oz, Ruis, Asta, Stanley, Momo & Pinot, Charlie, Socks, Scylla & Charybdis. Please visit their place for more of the Ireland story.

Blarney & More

The gang at the Blarney Castle.

. . . the Blarney Castle was originally a timber hunting lodge built in the 10th century, which was replaced by a stone castle in 1210. The present day construction was completed in 1446 and was in the family of McCarthy until the arrival of Oliver Cromwell in 1646. Fifteen years later King Charles II on the English throne gave the castle back to the McCarthys. The McCarthys were forced to leave the castle after a battle in 1690. The castle was sold to Sir James Jefferyes, Governor of Cork in 1703. The Castle is now owned and managed by the Trustees of the Blarney Castle Estate.

Karl holds Ruis as he kisses the Blarney Stone.

Hanging upside-down is the only way to kiss the Blarney Stone. The famous Blarney Stone has been kissed by millions of people. The stone is high up in the battlements of the castle. Going up several long stone spiral staircases up to the top of the castle you will find a line of tourists waiting their turn to kiss the Blarney Stone. While at the top of the castle you can enjoy the spectacular views of the Irish countryside, Blarney House and The Village of Blarney. The stone is believed to be half of the Stone of Scone which originally belonged to Scotland. Scottish Kings were crowned over the stone, because it was believed to have special powers. The stone was given to Cormac McCarthy by Robert the Bruce in 1314 in return for his support in the Battle of Bannockburn. Queen Elizabeth the first wanted Irish chiefs to agree to occupy their own lands under title from her. Cormac Teige McCarthy promised loyalty to the Queen without "giving in". Elizabeth proclaimed that McCarthy was giving her "a lot of Blarney".

Taking a little break in our day of site-seeing we all headed to a local pub to enjoy some refreshments.

Later in the evening we all headed to The Pointe Theatre where Opus and Roscoe would be holding a special performance. This was requested by the Michael Flately of Lord of the Dance. When Mr. Flately heard that the Italians would be in Ireland we wanted them to show their stuff to the dance troupe and the residences of Ireland.

Ireland Or Bust

Opus & Roscoe heading for The Leaning Tower of Pisa to meet the tour group heading to Ireland.

Several weeks ago I received an e-mail from my sissy Momo kitty asking if I would be interested in going to Ireland to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, she had been invited by Socks and his sisters, Scylla & Charybdis. I thought about that invitation for about a half a second and said yes. Sissy Momo also asked others to come along. Our group heading for the Ireland tour will be spent with our good friends Opus & Roscoe, Karl, Emil, & Mrs. Oz, Ruis, Asta, Stanley, Momo & Pinot, Charlie, Socks, Scylla & Charybdis. Now we have a wonderful adventure ahead of us and can hardly wait to see what fun awaits us around every corner. This adventure will lead us to the celebration of St. Patrick's Day in Dublin Ireland! We are meeting everyone in Italy by The Leaning Tower of Pisa so we can pick up Opus and Roscoe to come along on our trip.

Catching up with Opus and Roscoe we all went to visit around the city of Pisa and took this group photo, you can see the tower in the distance.

Photographers Asta & Sassy

After hicking around Pisa we decided to have lunch before we climbed to the top of the tower. We had a beautiful picinic in The Field of Miracles.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a freestanding bell tower in the Italian city of Pisa. Although the tower was intended to stand vertically, the tower began leaning to the southeast soon after the onset of construction in 1173 due to a poorly laid foundation that has allowed the foundation to shift direction. The Leaning Tower of Pisa has 296 or 294 steps, lost count; the seventh floor has two less steps on the north-facing staircase. The tower leans at an angle of 3.97 degrees. This means that the top of the tower is 3.9 meters from where it would stand if the tower were perfectly vertical. After we got down from the top of the tower one Italian man said that he thought the tower was leaning a little more than it usually did when we all were at the top. We thought that was a pretty rude remark and with that we left Pisa and headed to Ireland . . .

Photographers Sassy, Opus & Roscoe

. . . I am not sure where Opus and Roscoe purchased this wonderful van but it will get you anywhere you want to go without all of the long, long, long travel time. Ireland here we come!

Photographers Karl & Sassy

We are all waiting in the lobby for our room assignments and the keys to the rooms, Asta and Stanley have rented a little cottage for to get away for some alone time. We have decided to stay at the Fitzpatrick Castle in Dublin, a short hop from the city. This hotel has a four star rating and as a guest here we will experience the magic of an 18th century hotel castle while overlooking Dublin Bay.

Photographers Sassy & Momo Kitty

We all found our rooms were near each other and it seems that we had the same idea to look out of our hotel room and check out the beautiful Dublin coastline.

At the end of our busy day the four sisters enjoyed the quiet of the hotel room and caught up on some girl talk, little brother Pinot was asleep being babysat by Opus and Roscoe.

The remains of The Leaning Tower of Pisa as shown on the newscast

While the we were hanging out in the hotel room we turned on the television and to our horror saw a photo showing that something awful had happened to The Leaning Tower of Pisa. The police in Italy are asking that anyone with information that might be helpful in solving this mystery please contact them. There was a mention of a reward but we don't remember the amount because we all went into the state of shock. Oh, I do so hope that we really didn't have anything to do with that.

After the shock hearing about The ex-Leaning Tower of Pisa I decided to head for bed and settle down for the night when there was a knock at my door. Earlier in the evening when I passed Ruis and Karl in the hall of the hotel they mentioned that they were going out to visit some of the local pubs. I casually mentioned to Karl that he should get a beer to go and drop if off at my room when they got back. To my surprise Karl took me up on my request! What a great friend!! After having my beer it was truly lights out for me!

Italian Newspaper from Opus & Roscoe

Waking up from a restful night Opus and Roscoe ran into my room with an Italian newspaper in hand, they are having the newspaper forwarded to Ireland while they are here, and the front page story was about the incident yesterday in Pisa. The government is wanting to quickly solve the mystery of what happened and are at a loss for words, at this time, that something like this could have happened. Wanting to just put this Pisa incident behind me I will just focus on the Ireland tour.

Tomorrow will be another busy day with a lot to do. Be sure to stop back to see what fun things we will find to do. Also, be sure and stop by the other blogs to see what the rest of the tour group has been up to on this trip. Maybe you will even find out what happened to The Leaning Tower of Pisa.
