Awards

This January I have been fortunate enough to receive three awards.

Samantha and Tigger gave me This Blog is Rated E for Excellence Award. I want to thank Samantha and Tigger for honoring me with this award. I now need to send this to ten Blogger writers of outstanding style and ability.

I would like to give this award to Asta, Opus and Roscoe at Cat Naps in Italy, Daisy, Momo, Miss Peach, Tybalt, the gang at Jan's Funny Farm, at Top Cat Rules Pyewackett & Trixie, Eric & Flynn, and Maya & Kena. All these Bloggers have wonderful outstanding styles and a fantastic ability to keep us thinking, amused and entertained.

I now must apologize for being late in posting of the two following awards. It is not that I did not appreciate those awards presented to me but I made the mistake of letting time get the best of me. For me doing this I must say how sorry I am and hope no feelings were hurt.

I receive from Charlie the You Make My Day Award and want to thank him and Orble for presenting me with this beautiful and uplifting award. Charlie is a dear friend of mine and one of the first blogging buddies that I met. I would now like to pass this award on to my first NOSS Sissy, Asta along with the award mentioned earlier. Whenever I leave her place I am always guaranteed a smile is on my face.

Another award I received earlier in January from Maya and Kena was the Blogger of the World 2007-2008 and I want to thank them for this beautiful award. I would now like to pass this award on to all who visit me and have up lifting blogs, supporting others when the need is there, and are kind to all when you visit their blogs.

Meme Time

I have been tagged for a meme. Here are the rules:

You have to post who tagged you and link back to them. Karl tagged me.

You have to tag 3 other kitties, beans, woofies, or any other assorted animal.

What three things would you do that you have never done before, if you knew you wouldn't get caught, get in trouble, or suffer any consequences.

  1. I would have all my friends and party for a whole day and night or even longer if we wanted to.
  2. Adopt a little kitty to be my sissie.
  3. Eat all of the treats and bad things for me all day long.

I tag my new siblings Momo, Asta, Momo doggie & Pinot.

Meme Super Bowl Challenge

The two top teams in the National Football League will face of at the Super Bowl on February 3. The winner of this game will represent the best in the league for the year. Those of us that live in the United States know that this game, for whatever reason, brings excitement even to those not all that interested in the game of football. For those who live in other countries do not understand this or care and that's OK.

I thought it would be fun to do a something a little different this year for the Super Bowl and decided that I am going to have a meme challenge. I am challenging the following cats/dogs to dress up as the ultimate Giants or Patriot fan, cheer leader or football player. You can use real clothing or with the help of photo shop make your outfits. When you are done if you would e-mail me your photo I will post them the day of the game. It's just for fun and I hope you will take me up on the challenge. I also will have a photo to share with you.

I officially challenge these cats/doggies to a Meme Super Bowl Dress Up and to challenge three of your friends; have your friends then challenge three of their friends.

1. Roscoe
2. Opus
3. Daisy
5. Derby
6. Momo Sissy Cat
7. Asta

Please have your photos back to me by February 1.

If there are any other cats, doggies, or other furries that would like to participate in this meme please feel free to join in; the more the merrier.

Karl's NOMSS Dare

I have taken the NOMSS (not of your own species) challenge from Karl.

  • The rules of this challenge are to find someone who is not of your own species and make friends. Introduce yourself and tell them why you chose them (color of their fur, feathers, scales, skin, layout and/or content of their Blog, their name, whatever it was that grabbed your attention).

  • Ask if they want to be your NOMSS friend and post about them on your Blog. Put the link to that post to their blog.

  • There are buttons designed so that you can put your new friend’s picture in it and is meant to be put in your sidebar with a permanent link to their blog. You can go here to copy your button.

    1. Now that you know the rules of the challenge I have asked Asta to be my NOMSS. I am happy to say that Asta has agreed and was just as excited as I was about this.

Asta was one of the first doggies I met when I first started blogging. I visit her blog almost daily and always leave with a smile on my face. Asta has such an upbeat personality that shines through the words that I read on her blog. Her adventures are always entertaining, interesting, and sometimes educational, and eye opening. She always includes all of her friends when she has parties and thinks of just about everything when hosting. If you are at one of her get-to-gethers you will not lack for anything. I also enjoy her accent, it adds a sweetness to a wonderful, lovable, and gentle doggie. I also have worked with Asta on two of the CCSI shows and found her to go above and beyond when the need arises. She is always willing to help out in other areas of the production if the need is there.

I am so fortunate to have Asta as my NOMSS and treasure the time that we share together. She and I have talked about becoming my NOMSS and the both of us have decided to take it one step further. We are renaming our NOMSS to mean not of my species sibling. This is so exciting to me as I have always wanted to have a sissy now I will have two. Asta has an adopted sister Momo and that will mean that Momo will be my sissy too.

Now here is where I put the spin on the NOMSS, as most of you know I always like to shake things up a little. Well, when I was a little kitty I always hoped that I would have sisters and brothers to play with; the house I live in has just little me. With the chance of expanding my family I jumped at the opportunity and imagined what it would be like to all be together as wee ones heading to the same family.

Momo is one of the first kitties that I met when I first started blogging back in the fall. I consider Momo my BFFF, best female furry friend, and now we will be in the same family.

Momo has given me many hours of a shoulder to lean on and help me work through some things that I needed help with. One of the first outings I took was on a picnic hosted by Momo and since then we have shared many adventures together. How wonderful that these two beautiful, fascinating, and kind furries will become part of my family. I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to expand my family with two of my wonderful friends.

Guess what? There is a twist to the twist and that is I have two more additional siblings. You see Momo kitty has another sister, Momo doggie, and brother, Pinot. Since Momo kitty is my sissy now that means that Momo and Pinot will be my sissy and little bro. I visit often with Momo and Pinot seeing what they are up to over in Canada.

My new sissy and little bro go on many trips with their mom and dad of the house and take a lot of walks outside when it is not too cold. I was at their place when baby Pinot came to live with the family. I especially like the videos the mom and dad have on their blog showing little P running around the house while his big sissy watches closely over him making sure he doesn't get into too much trouble. What a wonderful new family I now have. How much fun we will all have together.

      My sisters and brother.

I would like to at this time challenge the first five, honor system, that have read this post to find a NOMSS and do a post. If you need more information about this see Karl and all of the information you need will be posted there.

      Girls' time.

Have fun with it; I sure did!

      Field Work Fun

What an exciting few days we had at Cheerleading Academy. Time was spent studying, working out, learning new cheers, perfecting old cheers, designing uniforms, fashion shows, and sportsmanship seminars. From the moment we first stepped into that first class until the awards were given to us upon completion of our studies we all took in everything that was offered at the academy. For this, when we are asked to cheer, we will be able to do justice to the team we are rooting for.

      Settled In

Upon arriving at Cheerleading Academy late I found that I had fallen a little behind in the studies that would be required of me. Not to waste any time I hit the books in my dorm room and burnt the midnight oils studying.

Tomorrow will be a fun day as we will be out in the fields learning new techniques that we will be able to enhance our cheering skills. I look forward to seeing my buddies, Momo, Daisy, Percy, Karl, Ruis, Miss Peach, Asta, Opus, and Roscoe, that caught up with me at the academy and we are in some of the same classes.

      GO PACKERS!!

If you see anyone don't tell them that I snuck away from the academy today.

      Arrival

Great news! I have arrived at the Cheerleading Academy at last. The hold-up on the trip, I found out, was a problem with getting across the bridge. Come to find out we were traveling through a small town in the Midwest and it was the Annual Fishing Off Of The Bridge competition. There were so many enrolled in the contest this year that there was no room for buses or cars to cross the bridge. We stayed overnight and got to meet some of the locals and had a fish fry that evening; it was good.

Upon arriving at Cheerleading Academy I was delivered to the door of my dorm, Rah Kappa, by bus. Chilly and I were so excited to finally be here that we did not notice the wonderful surprise awaiting us. After we unloaded ourselves and our luggage we took a few pictures outside of the dorm. When we took a closer look, to our amazement we saw Momo, Opus, Roscoe, Karl, and Ruis looking outside their windows at us! They were a little worried when the bus was delayed and wanted to make sure that Chilly and I made it safely to our destination. They took a different bus route and arrived hours before us; how happy we all were to be together at last. They might even sit in on a few classes offered here at the academy.

So here I am with my traveling companion, Chilly, in a new place with some of my good friends, waiting to receive tomorrow's schedule.

      On The Road Again

Today has turned out to be an interesting day. After boarding the bus and heading to The Cheerleading Academy the bus driver informed all of us that he would be unable to cross the bridge ahead. We would be on a delay and wait out the traffic until the situation down the road was clear.

With extra time on my paws I had nothing to do so I teleported over to Karls to check things out. To my surprise he had penguin souvenirs for all of this guest who attended Miss Peach's birthday party in the Antarctic. I picked up my little fuzzy penguin, which I named Chilly, and headed back to the bus. Chilly is going to go to the academy with me and keep me company. Thank you so much Karl for the lovely gift!

We are still stuck on the bus unable to move through the traffic jam. Still don't know at this time what the hold up is, sure hope we get moving soon.

      Cheerleading Academy

I have decided to attend one of the finest cheerleading academies in America. I was spotted by several recruiters while I was with the cheering squad yesterday at the Colts game in Indianapolis. After the game I met with several of the recruiters and they inquired if I was available to sub for their cheering teams when the need would arise. I thought this over for awhile and have decided that I would avail myself to subbing at the games when needed; but before I could go ahead with this decision I would need to perfect my skills on cheering.

      At the bus station.

Getting ready to board the bus.

I found The Cheeringleading Academy after doing a Google search on the Internet last night. This academy is well known for placing those who have attended classes there with high ranking teams. I should not be gone too long and when I get my certificate for cheering I will be able to go out in front of the crowds and do my best. Wish me luck.

      GO TEAM!

Sassy with the official cheering squad.

This wonderful world of blogging has opened so many doors for me and allowed me to meet many wonderful new and kind friends. Since my trip into space and the success of CCSI I have had another opportunity of an adventure that would not take me too far away from home.

Sassy with some fans at a tailgate party before the game.

Sassy with the squad during pregame festivities.

To my surprise after I came back from my trip into space and got home from Miss Peach's birthday party at Karl's I had a message waiting for me on my answering machine. It seems that someone on the cheering squad for the Indianapolis Colts football team got the flu bug and would be unable make it to today's game; I was asked if I would be interested in filling in. All that stands between the Colts playing in the Super Bowl game for 2008 is the game today and one more after that. It is important that the cheering squad be at their best to cheer the team on to a win.

      Sassy leading a cheer.

The cheering squad put in long hours of practice for today's game and without a sub it would be difficult for them to perform their routines; formations would not be right. I could not let the squad, team, or fans down so, of course, I said I would be more than happy to help them out. I must say that it has been a blast. Much to my happiness I am now considered their first sub choice to call when the need arises.

If you would like please take a Colt's logo and display it on your blog in support of the team.

We cannot see how the team is doing as it is hard from where we are standing to see the scoreboard and we cannot not hear over the yelling of the fans what is being announced . . .

. . . after a lot of two teams chasing who ever had the ball, knocking them down, then having the same thing happen back at them once the other team got the ball back, by the way I don't know who owned the ball first, having fans screaming almost the whole time the end was not what the Hoosier team wanted. I am sad to say that the Colts lost 24 -28. Everybody left saying it was a good game anyway??? Don't understand the humans too much. Anyway the Colt's team is done with football this year, I do want to say nice game to both teams; good sportsmanship by all; nothing like you see in the hockey stuff.

Hey does anyone know who owned the football? If we knew that answer maybe the teams wouldn't have had to spend all day fighting to get it back.

      Missing Times Two

I visited Jan's Funny Farm several days ago and she has a post about Haggis. It was such a sad story and I told Jan that I would do a post in the hopes that it might help Haggis and his family to reunite. After you read this if you would like to do a post about Haggis that would be so nice of you and feel free to take a wanted poster and display it on your blog.

Haggis's humans were involved in an accident on November 21, 2007 while on their way to Thanksgiving dinner with family;you can read the details on lostdeerhound.com . Haggis and Attila escaped from the car after theirs was rear-ended, rolled and hit a guardrail. Attila was hit by a car and killed. The humans were not allowed to search for Haggis. They were forced to go to the hospital, even though they were not injured.Haggis has been sighted a number of times since then, but he is still lost. You don't have to live in Maryland to help hunt for Haggis. That's a wonder of the Internet. But the more posts about him, the sooner he might be reunited with his humans.

Even if you don't live near where Haggis went missing with the large world of the internet and all of the many bloggers someone might see this and it might aid in getting Haggis home where he belongs. Please help Haggis find his way back home.

Another little one is missing; found this information when I visited Karl's place. Please help bring Mao, Skeezix big brother, home safely! Read about his disappearance here.

You are invited to take this picture and display it on your blog so Mao gets home safe.

      Winners & Certificates

The winners and photographers of the mystery adventure are treated to a tour of NASA by Sassy & Momo.

What an adventure Momo and I had and I hope you all had fun with it too. I was curious as to how many took part in the last few days so I looked at my site meter; it only went back to the 9th. I was amazed that I had a total of 448 visitors in the last two days, from as far away as Australia, Canada, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. From the United States I had visitors from fifteen of the fifty states including the District of Columbia.

I am proud now to introduce you to our winner of the Sassy & Momo Mystery Adventure, Daisy. She used her CCSI skills wisely, waiting and gathering all of the information before she made her guess. Daisy was 100% right on with all of her facts about our mission. I am presenting Daisy with the Certificate of Excellence and also a prize for first winner will be in the mail. Congratulations Daisy; nice work.

Flynn is one talented CCSI detective as his guess was made on the first post. He possesses a keen ability to pick up the slightest clue and put things together. His comment was ". . . I think it is the school of Aeronautic and Astronautics at Purdue University, West Lafayette. That is where they train for space flights and the space shuttle. I think you are going into space with Momo." The only thing missing was that we were going to make repairs in space. For his clever and acurate detective work I am awarding Flynn honorable mention in our mystery adventure. Also, a prize will be sent to by mail to Flynn's home. Fantastic detective work!

Two other Certificate Of Excellence Awards, I am please to say, are for our two great photographers, Opus and Roscoe. They were right there with us recording everything we did so that this historical moment would be preserved forever. Thanks guys, you did a wonderful job!

The last award is for all of you who participated, stopping by to encourage us, gather clues, make guesses, or just offer words of support. I would like the following to please pick up your Participation Award and, if you would like, display it on your blog: Artsy Catsy, Asta, Capt. Jack & Dante, Cheysuli & Gemini, Christine & Faz, D Chedwick & Bryant, Diamond Emerald Eyes, Dragonheart & Merlin, Eric, Jan's Funny Farm Gang, KC & Missy Blue Eyes, Karl, Marilyn Monreow, Maya & Kena, Michico & Adan, Mickey, Miss Peach, ML (Mary Lynn), Ruis, Mr. Hendrix, Samatha & Tigger, Shohomo '67, TCR Topcatrules gang, The Meezers, and Tybalt.

If you don't see your name and you visited me during the mystery adventure, please take a Participation Award with you and let me know so I can add your name to the list. I apologize if anycat/doggie was overlooked.

I hope you all had as much fun with this as Momo and I did. Another mystery anybody?
